Zusammenfassung

Das Altern verändert den Menschen sowohl in seinen biologisch-somatischen als auch seinen sozialen Bedingungen. Altersdepression ist eine Depression, die zunächst erst einmal nur durch das chronologische Alter definiert ist. Aber chronologisches Alter ist nicht dem somatischen Alter gleichzusetzen, weil die Alterungsprozesse individuell unterschiedlich ablaufen. Ist die Altersdepression eine Depression wie im jüngeren Erwachsenenalter, nur in einem gealterten Körper und einer gealterten Psyche? Nein, denn die somatischen und psychischen Veränderungen im Alter haben Auswirkungen auf die Depression. Wir werden die wichtigen Einflüsse der Alterungsprozesse auf verschiedene Bereiche der Depression darstellen.
