Zusammenfassung

Die 8oer und 9oer Jahre waren Zeuge eines enormen Aufschwungs in der Grundlagen- und klinischen Forschung zur erektilen Dysfunktion des Mannes. Innerhalb weniger Jahre wurde eine Fülle neuer Erkenntnisse zur Physiologie und Pathophysiologie der Erektion erarbeitet, zahlreiche diagnostische Methoden entwickelt oder verbessert und eine Reihe neuer Therapieoptionen erprobt. Die vielfältigen Aspekte und Facetten dieses äußerst dynamischen Prozesses können hier nur ausschnitthaft angesprochen werden.
