Zusammenfassung

Das kolorektale Karzinom stellt in Deutschland die zweithäufigste malignombedingte Todesursache dar. Lebermetastasen sind bei 15–25% der Patienten bei Diagnose des Primärtumors vorhanden und weitere 20 % entwickeln Lebermetastasen im weiteren Krankheitsverlauf (Ballantyne u. Quin 1993). Dabei ist die Lebermetastasierung zumeist prognosebestimmend. Die Prognose von Patienten mit kolorektalen Lebermetastasen ohne Therapie ist mit medianen Überlebenszeiten unter 12 Monaten (Ballantyne u. Quin 1993; Wingo et al. 1995) ungünstig. Medikamentöse Behandlungsmethoden wie systemische oder regionale Chemotherapie konnten keine, oder nur eine geringe Verbesserung der Prognose bewirken — hier werden zumeist mediane Überlebenszeiten von 11–15 Monaten angegeben (Isacoff u. Borud 1997; Meta-AnalysisGroup in Cancer 1996).
