Zusammenfassung

Der Alternsprozess des Gehirns als ein Teilgeschehen im Altern des Gesamtorganismus umfasst eine Reihe von Gewebsveränderungen, die als Strukturwandel in Abhängigkeit von der Zeit aufzufassen sind. Man unterscheidet orthologische Altersveränderungen des Gehirns ohne klinischen Stellenwert and pathologische Alterungsvorgänge als Korrelate zerebralen Leistungsabbaus sowie altersbedingter Hirnfunktionsstörungen.
