Zusammenfassung
Unter den entzündlichen Erkrankungen der Skelettmuskulatur sind die infektiösen, durch Viren, Bakterien, Parasiten und andere Erreger bedingten von den wesentlich häufigeren, offenkundig nichtinfektiösen, im Rahmen von Autoaggressionskrankheiten oder anderen immunogenetischen Erkrankungen auftretenden Prozessen zu unterscheiden (Polymyositis, Einschlusskörpermyositis und Dermatomyositis; interstitielle Myositiden bei Vaskulitiden, Gefäßbindegewebserkrankungen bzw. Kollagenosen; fokale Myositis, Myositis orbitalis, eosinophile Myositis, Polymyalgia rheumatica u.a.).
