Digital Luminescence Mammography: A Phantom Study before Clinical Use

  • Conference paper
Digital Mammography

Abstract

Since 02/1998 we use at the Institute of Diagnostic Radiology, Gynaecological Radiology, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, digital phosphor storage plate mammography in magnification technique (Fuji) in clinical routine (n=12.668) [4, 12, 13, 14]. Experimental investigations for detection and diagnosis of microcalcifications and round lesions demonstrate the same results in view of the diagnosis with conventional film screen system and digital phosphor storage plate in magnification technique[l]. Since 11/2000 a digital phosphor storage plate without magnification (8–9 lp/mm) exists (Fuji/Siemens). To receive a first impression of the image quality, we used for our investigation a quality control method which is performed in the USA since many years [6].
