Zusammenfassung
Die Infektion ist die schwer wiegendste Komplikationen moderner Endoprothesen. Hinsichtlich der operativen Interventionsmöglichkeiten und der Antibiotikatherapie hat der Chirurg ohnehin nur eingeschränkte Optionen, so dass einer zielgerichteten Therapie entscheidende Bedeutung zukommt. Eine inkonsequente chirurgische Sanierung wird ebenso wie eine ungeeignete Antibiotikatherapie die weiteren Erfolgsaussichten verschlechtern.
