Zusammenfassung

Verschiedene Substanzen [z. B. Pigmente (Melanin oder Melanin-ähnliche Pigmente, Melanosis thymi), Lipofuscin, Lipoide, Lipoproteide, Cholesterin, Eisen (Hämochromatose)] können im Thymus abgelagert werden (z. B.: Dourov 1974). Es handelt sich überwiegend um „thymische Mitreaktionen“ im Rahmen generalisierter Stoffwechsel-und Ernährungsstörungen. Auf isolierte „cholesteatomatöse Umwandlungen mit Lipophagie“ wurde bereits hingewiesen (Kap. 4: Thymusinvolution). Extrem selten sind Amyloidablagerungen.
