Zusammenfassung
„Es ist leichter, Waren nach Japan zu importieren und in Japan ein Unternehmen zu griinden als in Deutschland und in den USA.“1 Mit dieser Aussage überraschte Hans Peter Stihl, der Präsident des Deutschen Industrie- und Handelstages, zugleich Inhaber des gleichnamigen deutschen Unternehmens, das Weltmarktführer für Motorsägen ist, bei einem Interview mit der führenden japanischen Wirtschaftszeitung Nihon Keizai Shinbun am 26. Januar 1996 in Tokyo Journalisten und Zuhörer. Was für ein Unterschied zu den üblichen Stellungnahmen, die Japan als verschlossen und kostspielig charakterisieren. Und mit was für einem Gewicht, denn das Unternehmen Stihl ist seit 1964 in Japan vertreten, seit 1990 sogar mit einer eigenen Tochtergesellschaft, und diese ist die weltweit profitabelste Niederlassung des Unternehmens.
