Zusammenfassung

In Deutschland muß bei ca. 15% der Paare im fortpflanzungsfähigen Alter mit einer ungewollten Kinderlosigkeit gerechnet werden. Es ist allgemein bekannt, daß 50% der Sterilitätsfaktoren beim Mann liegen (WHO 1987). In ca. 20% der Fälle wird eine alleinige männliche Sterilitätsursache angenommen. Die Erklärung für den heute gestiegenen Anteil männlicher Infertilität liegt in der frühzeitigeren und intensiveren Untersuchung des männlichen Partners.
