Abstract
Distal supraspinatus tears measuring less than 2 centimetres (Fig. 1) are the least serious of full-thickness rotator cuff lesions and are the easiest to repair as they are limited to the end portion of a single tendon, with no continuation either backwards to the infraspinatus or forwards to the subscapularis. However, most of these ruptures are often symptomatic causing acute pain, despite a specific rehabilitation program lasting at least 6 months.
