Zusammenfassung
Bei etwa 2/3 der Veröffentlichungen der letzten Jahre, die sich mit dem Tarsaltunnelsyndrom beschäftigen, handelt es sich urn Einzelfallbeschreibungen. Seit 1990 sind nur 7 Studien in deutscher oder englischer Sprache erschienen, die sich mit Behandlungsergebnissen von mehr als 20 Patienten befassen, wie eine aktuelle Medline-Recherche zeigt (Baba et al. 1997, Bailie und Kelikian 1998, Carrel et al. 1994, Frey und Kerr 1993, Hermann et al. 1991, Mahan et al. 1996, Takakura et al. 1991). Aus diesen Zahlen ist abzulesen, daf es sich urn eine relativ seltene Erkrankung handelt.
