Zusammenfassung

Die idiopathische Hüftkopfnekrose ist seit etwa 70 Jahren bekannt und beschrieben (Freund). Ausgedehntere wissenschaftliche Beachtung fand sie jedoch erst in den 50er Jahren. Die späten 60er und 70er Jahre erbrachten einen sprunghaften Anstieg der erfaßten und publizierten Patientenzahlen.
