Abstract

A novel synthetic agent, ONO-2506, which inhibits the production of S-100 protein by cultured astrocytes, was shown to ameliorate the brain damage following transient focat ischemia in rats. In the present study, we aimed to further examine its effects in the permanent middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model in rats.
