Zusammenfassung
Die systematische Klassifikation des Georeliefs, seiner Komponenten und Assoziationen und seine regionale Strukturierung ist eine der Voraussetzungen fir das Verständnis geowissenschaftlicher Systeme in unterschiedlichen zeitlichen und räumlichen Dimensionen. In der Geomorphologie wird der Georeliefbegriff in unterschiedlichem Kontext verwendet. Grundsätzlich wird unter dem Georelief die Grenzfläche zwischen der Lithosphäre/Pedosphäre und der Atmosphäre/Hydrosphäre verstanden. Es ist in diesem Sinne eine zweidimensionale Fläche im dreidimensionalen Raum (Fränzle 1971). Zum anderen kann das Georelief als Oberfläche eines durch den oberflächennahen Untergrund gebildeten Körpers verstanden werden, den Kugler (1974) als dreidimensionalen geomorphosphärischen Komplex bezeichnet hat. Das Georelief stellt ein räumliches Kontinuum dar, dessen Habitus das Produkt der Reliefentwicklung ist, d.h. der Wirkung geomorphologischer Prozesse der Vergangenheit und Gegenwart.
