Abstract
The Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) is a database that contains information about the releases of toxic chemicals from U.S. manufacturing facilities into the environment. It also contains information on the amounts of these chemicals recycled, burned for energy recovery, or treated at the facility and shipped to other locations for energy recovery, recycling, treatment, or disposal. This information is required to be submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) each year, and is available to the public.
