Zusammenfassung

Die klinische Beurteilung von Patienten mit Bewußtseinsstörung ist durch eingeschränkte Kooperation und durch Medikamenteneinflüsse beeinträchtigt. Elektrophysiologische Untersuchungen ergänzen daher die klinisch-neurologische Beurteilung. Während das EEG eine Bedeutung bei Anfallsdiagnostik und Differentialdiagnose der Bewußtseinsstörung hat, werden evozierte Potentiale überwiegend als Entscheidungshilfen für oder gegen invasive therapeutische Maßnahmen sowie zur Prognosebeurteilung herangezogen.
