Abstract
Topical therapy still plays an important role in the treatment of onychomycosis despite the availability of excellent oral drugs. Presented here are the data from the clinical studies of ciclopirox nail lacquer performed in the United States. This preparation has been accepted as safe and effective in the treatment of onychomycosis in many countries outside the United States. It is well known that the disease can be extensive and difficult to treat in many patients, and the response to therapy is very slow no matter what agent is used.
