Abstract
The aim of this book is the discussion of mathematical, algorithmic and computational aspects for the efficient numerical simulation of the laminar incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. As an important part of modern Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), these equations have to be solved as “standalones” or as part of even more complex problems. However, as we have demonstrated in Chapter 1, `Motivation for current research’, the efficient solution process is even today still a grand-challenging problem, particularly in the case of “real life” applications.
