Zusammenfassung

Die Proktoskopie und die Rekto-Sigmoidoskopie gelten im Rahmen der gastroenterologischen Diagnostik, speziell der Proktologie, zweifelsfrei als die effektivsten, schnellsten und billigsten endoskopischen Untersuchungen [4, 6]. Sie sind auch im Zeitalter der Videoendoskopie, insbesondere im Rahmen von Vorsorgeuntersuchungen und gezielten Nach-sorgemaßnahmen, unverzichtbar. Sie ergänzen die in jedem Fall vorausgehende äußere Inspektion der Analregion sowie die rektal-digitale Austastung (Handschuh, Fingerling, Gleitmittel) von Analkanal, distaler Ampulla recti, Portio uteri bei der Frau sowie Samenblase und Prostata beim Mann.
