Abstract
A raft (length L, width b, mass m) floats with a constant velocity U R on a river. The component of the gravitational force in direction of motion may be set equal to the friction force F x on the raft. Far from the raft, the flow velocity U∞, viscosity 77, and the density ϱ are assumed to be constant. The free surface is inclined by the angle α (see figure).
