Abstract

A software has been developed for generating time standards for turned components which include machining as well as non machining time elements such as handling, set up, tear down, idle time between operations, tool change time etc. The software is based on COFORM system of description of part geometry and also takes into account type of lathe. The non productive time determined with the help of this software alongwith the machining time serves as the basis for evaluation of computer generated process plans.
