Energy Systems in Transition under the Conditions of the Future
The energy situation continues to pose problems. An example is the question of the appropriate position of future nuclear energy uses. An answer to this question requires orientation. The design of scenarios is of help here if scenarios are not understood as predictions but as the identification of possible futures. The paper explores a few such scenarios that mostly envisage the time period till 2030. Special attention is given to the impact of abating CO2 emissions.
