Abstract

Learning at a distance involves some particular difficulties because of the delay between learning and correcting. On classical correspondence courses, learners can wait for several weeks (or months sometimes!) before getting their homework back (Fig. 1). This Situation is obviously a source of instability and can partly explain the high dropout rate in classical distance education Systems.
