Abstract
Attention is drawn to the crucial role which scenarios play in the analysis and design of technology-supported learning systems. Some examples of such scenarios are given which have been used in the derivation of general and specific learning system architectures. Directions for further research in the area of scenario construction and utilization are proposed.
