Zusammenfassung
Der vorliegende Artikel beschäftigt sich mit den Grundzügen der Infrarot-Fou-rier-Transform-Spektroskopie (IR-FTS) [1]–[11] und ihrer Anwendung auf Probleme der Festkörperphysik. Die Methode wurde in ihrer Bedeutung durch Fellgett (1951) [12] erkannt, als er den sog. Multiplexvorteil gegenüber den damais üblichen Spaltspektrometern formulierte. Aber schon Rubens und Wood [13] haben 1911 eine vorläufige Form der FTS im fernen Infrarot (FIR) durch die Benutzung eines Zweiplatteninterferometers aus Quarz benutzt. Sie gaben das Verfahren aber bald wieder auf wegen des großen Rechenaufwands für die Fourier-Transformation. Auch Michelson könnte als Vorläufer genannt wer-den, als er 1891–1892 sein berühmtes Interferometer erfolgreich zur Fein-strukturanalyse von Atomspektren mit Hilfe der sog. „visibility technique“ ein-setzte [14]. Er nahm allerdings dabei keine Phaseninformation mit, so daß er sich auf sehr einfache Linienspektren beschränken mußte.
