Summary
Globalization of markets and differentiation of customer demands and requirements increase the speed of changes in industrial companies. Many companies now realize that business success is related not only to right products but also to right production of these products. The present paper describes an approach of production process optimization based on a combined JIT-TQM-Strategy. The key elements and the concepts for process optimization are outlined. Furthermore, the strategy is linked to a realistic case of the elevator industry showing achieved improvements and recommending future implementation steps and activities to establish employee and customer satisfaction.
