SV40-Based in Vitro DNA Replication Assay

  • Chapter
Cell Cycle — Materials and Methods

Part of the book series: Springer Lab Manual ((SLM))

Abstract

In the absence of well defined origins of DNA replication from animal cells, the biochemical approach to study DNA replication as related to the cell cycle, has been confined to two systems. One is the replication of exogenous DNA in Xenopus egg extracts (see chapter by P. Clarke, Part Two), and the other, which is the subject of this chapter, is the in vitro replication of DNA based on the replication of the papovavirus SV40.
