Abstract

This chapter is concerned with the one-particle Dirac theory. It is not entirely correct to use the notion “particle” because, as we will see, there is no consistent physical interpretation of this sometimes called “first quantized” theory. Nevertheless, we must study it in great detail since later, after transforming it into a quantum field theory, it will lead us to the correct second quantized theory.
