Zusammenfassung

Die funktionellen Magen-Darm-Störungen, allen voran das Reizmagen-(RMS)-und Reizdarmsyndrom (RDS), zählen in der Allgemeinpraxis mit 12% und in der gastroenterologischen Praxis mit bis zu 30% zu den häufigsten Problemerkrankungen in der ambulanten Medizin [2, 3, 9, 14]. Nicht nur aufgrund der relativen Häufigkeit beider Krankheitsbilder, sondern auch wegen des zum Teil hohen Leidensdruckes der Patienten, besitzen die Diagnosesicherung und die gezielte symptomatische Therapie einen hohen Stellenwert in der Gastroenterologie.
