Zusammenfassung

Nitroglycerin ist seit weit über 100 Jahren für seine prompte Wirksamkeit bei der Angina pectoris bekannt. Es wirkt so sicher, daß es auch zur Differentialdiagnose von Brustschmerzen verwendet wird. Seitdem der Wirkungsmechanismus aufgeklärt werden konnte, spricht man von der Gruppe der NO-Donatoren, die auch andere chemische Stoffe mit gleichem Wirkmechanismus umfaßt.
