Das Gehirn und das Rückenmark sind von einer dünnen Haut überzogen, der sog. Spinnwebenhaut (Arachnoidea). Blutungen unterhalb dieses dünnen Häutchens nennt man Subarachnoidalblutungen (sub = unter).
