Zusammenfassung
Wichtige Meilensteine für das Verständnis und somit die Diagnostik allergischer Reaktionen waren die Beschreibung und Einteilung von Überempfindlichkeitsreaktionen in 4 Typen nach Coombs und Gell im Jahre 1963 und die Entdeckung des Immunglobulin E durch Ishizaka im Jahre 1967. Die Erkenntnis, daß die Typ-I-Reaktion nach Coombs und Gell als Soforttyp einer Überempfindlichkeit auf einer IgE-vermit-telten Reaktion des Immunsystems bei Kontakt zu einem entsprechenden Antigen beruht, ist die Grundlage fast aller gängigen In-vitro-Aller-giediagnoseverfahren.
