Zusammenfassung

Lungenfunktionsprüfungen asthmakranker Kinder bezwecken zweierlei:

  • Die Diagnose Asthma bronchiale muß gesichert und von anderen Lungenerkrankungen abgegrenzt werden (Tabelle 1)

  • Der Therapieerfolg muß überwacht und dokumentiert werden

Bedauerlicherweise werden obstruktive Atemwegserkrankungen im klinischen Alltag oft nicht erkannt, sondern fallen erst im Rahmen von Querschnittsuntersuchungen auf.
