Zusammenfassung

Die Bewertung der Patellahöhe ist in einer Vielzahl von Krankheitsbildern von Bedeutung. Aus diesem Grunde hat das International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) die Beurteilung der Patellahöhe als Kriterium zur Bewertung der Kniefunktion 1999 im gleichnamigen Score aufgenommen. Aber auch 70 Jahre nach der Beschreibung des ersten Patellahöhen-indexes durch Boon-Itt (1930) wird dieses Thema immer noch kontrovers diskutiert. Es sind eine Vielzahl von Methoden zur Bestimmung der Patellahöhe publiziert worden (Bernageau [2], Blackburne-Peel [5], Blumensaat [6], Caton-Deschamps [8], Egund [12], Insall-Salvati [18], Janßen [21], Grelsamer [13], Hepp [16], Koshino [23], Trillat [35]). Keines dieser Verfahren hat sich als ideal herausgestellt.
