Zusammenfassung

Patellofemorale Schmerzen werden oft auf eine Chondromalazie zurück geführt. Arthroskopische Studien und Kadaverstudien haben jedoch gezeigt, dass eine Chondromalazie häufig vorliegt, ohne dass sie mit Schmerzen verbunden ist [3]. Bentley, Metcalf, McGinty und andere Autoren konnten zeigen, dass es viele Patienten mit einem anterioren Knieschmerz gibt, die arthroskopisch einen völlig normalen retropatellaren Knorpel aufweisen [2, 11, 13].
