Zusammenfassung

Die Spaltung des Retinaculum patellae laterale wird meist kurz als „Retinakulumspaltung“ oder auch im deutschen Sprachraum als „Lateral Release“ bezeichnet. Der Eingriff umfasst eine Durchtrennung samtlicher Schichten des Retinaculum patellae laterale 1 bis 2 cm lateral des Kniesheibenrades unter Mitdurchtrennung seiner Vertärkungszüge, des distalen patellotibialen Bandes und des proximalen epikondylopatellaren Bandes [6].
