Gekoppelt an die aufrechte Position des Menschen kommt dem Achsorgan Wirbelsäule (Abb. 1) eine herausragende Bedeutung zu. Das Zusammenspiel knöcherner, ligamentärer und muskulärer Strukturen ist die Voraussetzung zur statischen und dynamischen Stabilität, eingeschlossen der Schutz der im Spinalkanal laufenden Anteile des ZNS.
