Die über einen dorsalen Zugang durchgeführte Instrumentation mit Fixateur interne und ventrale Spondylodese über eine transpedikulär intrakorporell und interkorporell eingebrachte autologe Spongiosaplastik gilt seit 1985 als Golden-Standard für die operative Versorgung von instabilen Wirbelkörperfrakturen der unteren thorakalen und lumbalen Wirbelsäule.
