Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to provide an overview of the theoretical structure of ORANI-INT and to set out the nomenclature that is used in the remainder of the monograph. The relationship between ORANI-INT and ORANI is made clear and the sources of intertemporal behaviour identified. A distinction is made between the static and dynamic equations in ORANI-INT. Static equations relate variables in a particular period while dynamic equations relate variables in different, often adjacent, time periods. The equations of the model are discussed in detail in chapter 3.
