Zusammenfassung
Getrieben durch starke Kräfte des Wandels erfahren die Wettbewerbslandschaften vieler Branchen weltweit seit geraumer Zeit fundamentale Veränderungen. Bestehende Branchengrenzen werden aufgelöst, neue Branchen entstehen, tradierte Regeln des Wettbewerbs werden z. T. radikal verändert; mit der schnellen Diffusion informationstechnischer Anwendungen erreicht die Evolution der Wirtschaft eine neue Phase, in der Wissen zum beherrschenden Wettbewerbsfaktor wird und in der das Auftreten von Neuerungen eher die Regel als die Ausnahme ist. Dieser dynamische Wettbewerb stellt an die Innovationskraft der Unternehmen höchste Anforderungen. Gefragt sind nicht nur Neuerungen bei Produkten, Dienstleistungen und Prozessen, sondern auch bei Strukturen, Systemen und Strategien. Mit anderen Worten: Um nachhaltig erfolgreich sein zu können, müssen Unternehmen immer wieder neu erfunden werden.
