Zusammenfassung
Eine sorgfältige Modellselektion von nichtlinearen statistischen Modellen wie neuronalen Netzen ist von großer Bedeutung, da eine Überparametrisierung zu einer starken Beeinträchtigung der Generalisierungsfähigkeit führt. In diesem Beitrag wird untersucht, ob statistische Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Netzwerkarchitektur sinnvoll eingesetzt werden können. Dazu werden Hypothesentests, Informationskriterien und der Bootstrap zur Modellselektion verwendet. Die Selektionsverfahren werden anschließend verwendet um drei Wechselkurse (DEMGBP, DEMFRF und DEMITL) zu modellieren. Abschließend wird die Performance der neuronalen Netzwerke mit linearen Modellen verglichen.
