Zusammenfassung
Abrieb und Verschlei13 stellen die limitierenden Faktoren im Bereich der Hiiftendoprothetik dar (Zichner und Willert 1992). Sie sind ganz wesentlich abhangig von den physikalischen Eigenschaften des verwendeten Materials und damit auch von den zum Einsatz kommenden Materialkombinationen. Die momentan verwendeten Materialpaarungen sind Metall-Polyethylen, Keramik-Polyethylen, Keramik-Keramik und Metall-Metall. Dabei sind aus zahlreichen in vitro-Studien vor allem beim Polyethylen Veranderungen durch Abrieb und Deformation bekannt (Semlitsch et al. 1977; Mittelmeier 1984; Anissian et al. 1999; Smith und Unsworth 1999). Gleichzeitig konnte far die Gleitpaarung Keramik-Polyethylen eine weitaus niedrigere Abriebrate ermittelt werden. So konnten Semlitsch et al. (1977) zeigen, dass eine Abriebrate von 40 jam bei einer Metall-Polyethylen-Paarung bereits nach 70-StundenTestzyklus erreicht wurde, wahrend dies bei der Keramik-Polyethylen-Paarung erst nach 800 Stunden auftrat. Inwieweit die hier gewonnenen Ergebnisse auf die Situation am Lebenden iibertragen werden konnen, ist aufgrund der zahlreichen Einflussgroi3en wie z. B. die individuelle anatomische Situation, die Implantationstechnik und die Frequenz und Halle der eingeleiteten Krafte nicht abschlieBend geklart. Desweiteren weisen die verschiedenen Simulatoren wesentliche Unterschiede in Bezug auf die Kinematik auf, sodass schon die in-vitro Ergebnisse untereinander haufig differieren (Ramamurti et al. 1998).
