Zusammenfassung
Üeber den Begriff „press-fit“ bestehen bisweilen widersprüchliche Auffas-sungen. Festzuhalten ist, dass der Begriff Press-Fit nichts zu tun hat mit der Beschaffenheit der Implantatoberfláche. Die Frage, ob Implantat/Knochen-Kontakt durch Press-Fit oder Einwachsen von Knochengewebe in eine Poröse Oberfláche erzeugt warden soll, ist somit falsch gestellt. Der eng-lische Ausdruck „press fit“ bedeutet „pressure fit“. Er beschreibt einen Mechanismus, mit dem zwei Fláchen aufeinander gedrückt warden.
