Zusammenfassung

Der Morbus Paget des Knochens (Synonym: Ostitis deformans Paget) [17] ist charakterisiert durch einen lokalisiert hochgradig gesteigerten Knochenumbau, der von pathologischen Riesenosteoklasten mit stark erhöhter Resorptionsaktivität ausgelöst wird. Es entsteht ein hypervaskularisierter Knochen, der eine verminderte mechanische Stabilität aufweist. Das Ergebnis dieses überstürzten Knochenumbaus ist das charakteristische Mosaik-Muster. Die Erkrankung betrifft das Skelett asymmetrisch, entweder monostotisch oder primär polyostotisch. Die resultierenden lokalisierten Knochenstrukturveränderungen führen oft zu Beschwerden und können eine Reihe von Komplikationen nach sich ziehen [11].
