Zusammenfassung

Die erste unter den Prinzipien der Antisepsis durchgeführte interne Stabilisierung einer Fraktur überhaupt wurde 1884 von Lister vorgenommen. Es handelte sich um eine Olekranonfraktur. Hierdurch hoffte er, dem früheren Dilemma, das entweder in der Pseudarthrose oder in der posttraumatischen Ankylose des Ellenbogens lag, ausweichen zu können. Seither hat sich bei der Behandlung der Olekranonfrakturen ein beachtlicher Wandel vollzogen. Während noch Elliot (1934) und Perkins (1936) unabhängig vom Frakturtyp ein nichtoperatives Vorgehen und den frühzeitigen Beginn der aktiven Bewegungsübungen forderten und McKeever und Buck (1947) davon ausgingen, dass die Exzision des Olekranons durchaus gute Resultate erzielt, besteht heute Einigkeit über die Notwendigkeit, eine operative Rekonstruktion und Stabilisierung der ulnaren Gelenkfläche anzustreben.
