Zusammenfassung
Allergische Rhinitis ist eine hypersensitive Reaktion der nasalen Mukosa auf Allergene; die Konjunktiven und der Rachenbereich reagieren häufig ebenfalls. Im Vordergrund stehen entzündliche Reaktionen mit den typischen Symptomen wie verstopfte und laufende Nase, Niesen, Jucken in Nase und Rachen, Rötung und Jucken der Augen sowie Tränenfluss. Die Patienten sind in ihren Tagesaktivitäten und dem Konzentrationsvermögen alteriert, der Schlaf ist gestört, d.h. die Lebensqualität ist teilweise beträchtlich eingeschränkt [2, 4, 6].
