Zusammenfassung
Schon früh wurde die Kapazität des Kollateralkreislaufs im Beckenbereich erkannt. Im Lehrbuch für Angiologie von Ratschow aus dem Jahr 1959 wird auf die gute Prognose eines isolierten Beckenarterienverschlusses und die Kollateralisierung über die Äste der A. iliaca interna, v. a. die A. obturatoria hingewiesen. Im Gegensatz zur A. profunda femoris spielt die A. iliaca interna als Zielgefäß für Gefäßrekonstruktionen dennoch nur eine untergeordnete Rolle. Aktuelle Bedeutung hat die A. iliaca interna in der endovaskulären Aneurysmatherapie durch geplante und nicht geplante Verschlüsse erlangt. Als Empfehlung gilt allgemein sowohl bei offenen als auch bei endovaskulären Verfahren möglichst eine A. iliaca interna zu erhalten. In der rekonstruktiven Beckenarterienchirurgie wird häufig dieses Gefäß weniger beachtet, was nicht zuletzt auch durch die schwierigere Zugänglichkeit bedingt ist. Systematische Untersuchun-gen wie bei der Profundaplastik fehlen. Berichte über Rekonstruktionen beschränken sich auf Einzelfälle. So veröffentlichte 1996 Johansen [12] eine Serie von 8 Patienten im Lauf von 12 Jahren, die isoliert an der A. iliaca interna operiert wurden. Im Nachfolgenden wird ein Überblick über die Bedeutung der A. iliaca interna als Ver-sorgungs- und Kollateralgefäß in der Gefäßchirurgie und in Nachbardisziplinen gegeben.
