Zusammenfassung
Das Verfahren mit einem spannungsfreien Vaginalband (Tension-free Vaginal Tape = TVT) wurde erstmals 1996 von Ulmsten und Mitarbeitern [1] beschrieben. In der Literatur überbieten sich inzwischen die Autoren mit Adjektiven wie „einfach, schnell (OP-Zeiten werden in Minuten angegeben!), effektiv, komplikationsarm“, so dass mittlerweile mehrere 100 000 dieser Operationen durchgeführt worden sind, wenn man Herstellerangaben glauben darf. Wissenschaftlich ausgewertet sind aber nur vergleichsweise kleine Serien und mit — für Inkontinenzproblematiken — kurzer Beobachtungsdauer [2, 7]. Angesichts der erst kürzlich zurückliegenden Erstveröffentlichung ist dies zwar verständlich, umso mehr verwundert aber die rasante Verbreitung des Verfahrens vor allem unter Gynäkologen.
