Zusammenfassung
Beginnend mit dem 70. Lebensjahr kommt es zu einem raschen, exponentiell verlaufenden Anstieg der Hüftfrakturen. In Deutschland erleiden im Jahr mehr als 100.000 Menschen eine hüftnahe Fraktur. 90% dieser Frakturen ergeben sich aus einem Sturz mit Aufprall in der Hüftregion. Die kinetische Energie, die bei einem Sturz aus Standhöhe ohne erfolgreiche Abwehrreaktion entsteht, liegt auch bei knochengesunden Männern, sobald das 70. Lebensjahr erreicht ist, weit über der Frakturschwelle des Femurs, also auch ohne Osteoporose!
